Data model: window_blist

General description: This file contains the full list of balkans used in the determination of the window function. The balkans consist of all the disjoint spherical polygons defined by the overlapping fields in the survey. Each spherical polygon is expressed as the intersection on the sphere of a number of "caps." See the mangle documentation for a full explanation. Because of the vast number of these polygons, the definition of the balkan is split into two files, this "window_blist" file and the corresponding window_bcaps.fits file.

Required column names:

• ibindx (int32): first entry for this field in the window_bindx.fits file matching the balkans to fields
• nfield (int32): number of fields overlapping this balkan (and corresponding number of entries in window_bindx.fits
• iprimary (int32): field index (position in the window_flist.fits file) for the field we chose as "primary" within this balkan
• icap (int32): position of the first cap in the window_bcaps.fits file
• ncaps (int32): number of caps (they appear in order after and including "icap" in the window_bcaps.fits file
• weight (float64): place-holder "weight" (always unity)
• str (float64): solid angle of this balkan in steradians

For IDL users, the photoop utility "window_read" can be used to read in the balkan list. It can also return IDL structures expressing the balkans, by combining the blist and bcaps files.
