Data model: plateHoles, plateHolesSorted
General description:
This file contains a DESIGN_TARGET structure for each hole to be
drilled into the specified plate.
Its structure is almost
precisely the same as that of a
plateDesign file, with the exception that the XFOCAL and YFOCAL
tags are added. The plateHolesSorted file is in the same format but is
resorted, so that it is in the same order that the plPlugMapP file
that is created will be in.
Naming convention: plateHoles-PLATEID6.par or
plateHolesSorted-PLATEID6.par
Approximate size:
500 kbytes.

Required header keywords: In addition to all of the header
keywords in the
plateDesign file, this file requires:
- plateid (int32): plate ID number
- ha[nPointings] (float32): the hour angle for which
each pointing is designed (negative = rising, positive = setting,
given in degrees)
- ha_observable_min[nPointings] (float32):
the minimum observable hour angle to guarantee no hole offsets due to
refraction greater than value given by MAX_OFF_FIBER_FOR_HA header
keyword in
plateDefaults file
(negative = rising, positive = setting,
given in degrees)
- ha_observable_max[nPointings] (float32):
the minimum observable hour angle to guarantee no hole offsets due to
refraction greater than value given by MAX_OFF_FIBER_FOR_HA header
keyword in
plateDefaults file
(negative = rising, positive = setting,
given in degrees)
- temp (float32): temperature of design (deg C)
- design_platescale_alt (float32): effective plate scale of
the design (in altitude direction, mm per deg)
- design_platescale_az (float32): effective plate scale of
the design (in azimuth direction, mm per deg)
- design_parallactic_angle (float32): parallactic angle (deg
E of N)
- guider_coeff_N (float32): placeholders for guider
coefficients, unused (N from 0 to 9)
Required columns: In addition to all of the columns in the
plateDesign file, this file requires the columns:
- xfocal (float64): final X position in the focal plane of
the hole, in mm; for position angle of zero (which we always use), +X
is +RA
- yfocal (float64): final Y position in the focal plane of
the hole, in mm; for position angle of zero (which we always use), +Y
is +Dec
